Summer Isn’t Summer, Without TFOB!

Can you really say you’ve enjoyed summer in Toronto if you’ve never attended Toronto’s Festival of Beer? Whether you’re just visiting or you call The 6ix home Toronto’s Festival of Beer is a must attend summer event in the city.

This year, “Toronto’s Festival of Beer will bring back three of its most popular attractions: Ontario House, New Brews Tent and its World of Beer Pavilion – this year known as the Canada 150 Pavilion to celebrate Canada’s birthday. Ontario House will feature a collective of 17 Ontario breweries while the News Brews Tent will showcase a series of breweries who are participating in the event for the very first time.” But it’s not just about the beer; the grilling tent (which requires no Open Table reservations) features a host of culinary delights from some of the top chefs in Toronto including the head chefs from Richmond Station, Real Sports Bar & Grill, Piano Piano, and more.

The beer is, of course, the main draw and with 416 (get it, ha!) brews to try you’re sure to find something you’ll like. Each year I find a new beer that I’ve never tried before, from a blonde lager flavoured with Jagr to a hibiscus pale lager that is to this day my favourite beer to enjoy on the shores of Lake Simcoe. Whether you like ’em blonde, red, or brown there’s something for everyone at TFOB.

Get your tickets now! And don’t worry about the rainy summer we’ve been having, Beer Festival is rain or shine, to be honest even if it does rain you’ll still have an amazing time. In the summer of 2011 (one of my earliest TFOB experiences) it poured buckets, I fell in the mud, I broke my favourite flip flops and walked home smiling, muddy, and happy. Because while most years the festival weather is gorgeous, it’s not about whether or not the sun is shining, it’s about the food, the drinks, the music, and enjoying the best city in the world with friends old and new.

There are always options for DD, water, pop and the like for those who don’t wish to imbibe.
